That;ThHowHow much do your services cost?
The cost of home care depends on your individual needs and budget. Most of our Care Management and In-Home services are billed on an hourly basis.
We pride ourselves in providing quality care with a great value that is often more affordable than placement in an assisted living facility. One of our Care Managers will explore all your options with you so your loved one can comfortably and safely remain at home as long as possible. We will work with you to provide a customized care plan that meets your needs and your budget.
Please call your local office to arrange an appointment with one of our Professional Care Managers. There is never a charge for this initial consultation.
Can't I just hire an independent caregiver?
Independent caregivers are often much cheaper than agency caregivers, often by several dollars per hour. Hiring an independent caregiver can appear to be an attractive option, but is it important to consider the risks and your responsibilities. When you hire a private caregiver, the IRS could consider you the employer, which means you may be responsible for employment taxes, liability insurance and worker's compensation insurance.
We will provide you with caregivers who are employees of Alternatives in Home Care. We pay all related employment taxes and provide liability and worker's compensation insurance. We also perform background checks, skills testing, reference checks and competency based interviews. Plus, if your regular Alternatives in Home Care caregiver is unavailable for any reason, we will send a replacement. When you hire a private caregiver, securing a replacement is often not possible.
Quality is also a concern when hiring independent caregivers. You can be certain that we verify our caregivers' knowledge and skills, and that we will provide ongoing training. Plus, the supervision of a Geriatric Care Manager can be invaluable - we will deal with all the issues that inevitably arise with any employees.
It is also important to note that you will receive integrated Professional Geriatric Care Management at no additional cost to you. Considering that the hourly rate for this service can exceed $120 per hour, receiving in home care from Alternatives in Home Care is a clear value.
Will my family member always receive care from the same caregiver?
We believe that establishing a long-term caregiving relationship is beneficial for you and your loved one. Rapport, trust and compatibility are vital to a successful home care experience. Because of this, we carefully match our caregivers to your individual needs and personalities and strive to always provide the same caregiver. Should you or your family member be dissatisfied with your caregiver for any reason, we will search for a match until you are happy.
Depending on your loved ones in-home care needs, we may need to schedule more than one caregiver in a given day or week. If you require multiple caregivers, our commitment to a beneficial and compatible caregiving relationship still applies.
Will you ask me to sign a contract?
At Alternatives in Home Care, we are certain that you will be extremely pleased with our quality service, attention to detail, customer service and professionalism. That's why we will never ask you to sign a contract or commit to a long-term obligation. You can cancel services at any time, without any hassle or pressure.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We believe that trust goes both ways. Just as you trust us with the care of your loved one, we trust that you will compensate us for our services. In many cases, we will not request a deposit. In the event that we do ask for a deposit, you can be assured that it will be reasonable and fair.
